Our Bistro
Our food is delicious and well-prepared. We buy locally, through skilled wholesalers. We choose Åland goods whenever available, otherwise we choose Finnish or Swedish.

Melina claimed her double degree in home economics and sports science at the School of Gymnastics and Sports in 2012. Her high academic ambition is reflected in her cooking. Melina is not satisfied with just enough. Food should be experienced with all senses.

Our baked potatoes with Melina's Skagen mash are both established and sought after. Melina's Åland pancake is said to be one of the best on the island.

We strive to offer an exciting selection of Åland products. Every year we introduce new local brands that we hope our guests will want to try.

The Brattvall Family
Melina

Sofia joined as an owner in 2025, but has worked at the marina since Melina took over. Sofia has a background in journalism and film production and works part-time as a journalist and copy writer when the marina is closed.

Sofia's best visitor tip:
"When you stay with us, I think you should take the opportunity to visit the open-air museum, Jan Karlsgården which, shows what an Åland farm could have looked like in the 19th century. On Wednesdays in July, exciting craft days are arranged where young and old can learn how to twist rope, mix the traditional Åland red paint and learn about blacksmithing."
Susanne

Johan is Melina's husband and is sometimes on site at the marina, helping with construction and maintenance. He also has a background in teaching and graduated as a physical education teacher in 2012. He is also a personal trainer and dietician.
Johan's best vistor tip:
"If you like to play golf, the golf course opposite the marina is one I highly recommend. The Åland Golf Course has been named the best golf course in Finland and I spend many days there with friends and family."
Labbe

Elton is Melinas and Johans oldest child at 12 years old. He is a hockey fanatic during the winter months and spends a lot of time on the golf course in the summer.
Elton's best visitor tip:
"I think the most fun thing about the marina is the Disc Golf Course located in the forest above. There are nine different holes of varying difficulty. If you're lucky, you can find lost Frisbees in the grass."
Leah

Melina took over Kastelholms Marina for the 2023 season and added her name to the harbor. During her time, she has made many changes. Her background as a home economics and sports teacher is reflected in her cooking, which is both nutritious and tasty.

Melina's best visitor tips:
"I really think you should take the opportunity to rent bicycles from us when you are here and see more of the beautiful Åland nature. Within cycling distance are, among other things, the historic Kastelholm Castle and Bommarsund Fortress. You can also cycle to Godby Center, where there is everything from large grocery stores to banks, pharmacies and a hardware store."
Sofia

Our mother, Susanne, has worked as a teacher her entire life and is a big reason why we focus on children's learning at the marina. As the daughter of a hard working grocery trader, she has taught us everything about presentation, flows and customer focus. Many of our most appreciated concepts come from her wise brain.

Susanne's best visitor tip:
"A little hidden gem is the Stornäset hiking trail that starts from the golf course. Perfect active relaxation for those who love to be surrounded by the beauty of nature. At Lumparn beach you can take a refreshing dip in the lake."
Johan

Labbe is our dad who shows up at the marina every now and then. His excellent boat skills have helped us a long way and he usually comes down to help when the marina is fully booked.
Labbe's best visitor tip:
"If you like history, I recommend a visit to Kastelholm Castle. This is where Gustav Vasa's son, Erik the XIV, was imprisoned in the autumn of 1571. This was after his brother, Johan III, took power. I recommend the guided tours if you really want to delve into history."
Elton

Leah is Melinas and Johans youngest child at 10 years old. She likes to hang out at the marina and sometimes helps out when we're lucky. Sometimes she sells her homemade bracelets.
Leah's best visitor tip:
"The most fun thing about the marina is swimming and sauna. I can do a backflip from the edge of the quay."
